The Centre for Sustainable Agricultural Mechanization (CSAM) of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) today attended the Inaugural Open Day of the International Potato Center-China Center for Asia Pacific (CCCAP) at the Scientific & Research Base of CCCAP at Yanqing, Beijing. 

At the opening of the event, Mr. Xie Jianmin, Director of CCCAP, acknowledged the contribution of CSAM to CCCAP and envisioned deepened collaboration between the two partners, particularly in the area of mechanization of potato production, while also engaging other United Nations entities. 

Following remarks by partners and experts, the Open Day included a visit to the CCCAP laboratory building, greenhouse and experimental field.
