11th ReCAMA Member Meeting Strengthens Regional Cooperation and Innovation in Agricultural Mechanization

The 11th Member Meeting of the Regional Council of Agricultural Machinery Associations in Asia and the Pacific (ReCAMA) was held on 25 October 2025 in Wuhan, China, convened by the Centre for Sustainable Agricultural Mechanization (CSAM) of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Aisa and the Pacific (ESCAP). The meeting brought together 39 participants from 12 ReCAMA member associations across the Asia-Pacific region to exchange insights on cutting-edge technologies in their respective countries, review the annual work report, and discuss the work plan in 2026.
 
The meeting was opened by remarks from representative of ESCAP-CSAM, and Mr. Li Anning, the Vice President of the China Agricultural Machinery Association (CAMA) in representation of the Chinese associations. Both emphasized the growing importance of regional cooperation and technological innovation in advancing sustainable and inclusive agricultural mechanization across the region. They underscored the need to strengthen partnerships among member associations to accelerate the transformation of agrifood systems through innovation and shared expertise.

Following the opening session, members elected the Mongolian National Farmers Association and the Malaysia Agriculture Machinery & Equipment Association as the Chair and Vice Chair Association for 2026, respectively.

The meeting then proceeded with presentations by the member association from Bangladesh, China, India, Mongolia, Nepal, Russian Federation, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Türkiye and Viet Nam, showcasing the latest advancements and emerging practices in agricultural mechanization in their respective countries.

The agenda moved forward with a review of the ReCAMA achievements of 2025, and members engaged in a discussion on the work plan of 2026. The discussion highlighted the need to strengthen peer-to-peer learning among associations, enhance collaboration on human resource development, and encourage deeper engagement within or beyond the existing ReCAMA network.

The meeting was wrapped with a shared commitment to continue fostering innovation, knowledge sharing, and partnership to advance sustainable agricultural mechanization in the Asia-Pacific region.
