Regional Workshop of Integrated Straw Management in Asia and the Pacific, 12-14 December 2017, Kathmandu, Nepal

The Regional Workshop on Integrated Straw Management in Asia and the Pacific will be held by the Centre for Sustainable Agricultural Mechanization (CSAM) of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), and the Ministry of Agricultural Development of Nepal on 13 December 2017 in Kathmandu, Nepal. The workshop is a follow-up action of the 4th Regional Forum of CSAM on 23-25 November 2016 in Hanoi, Viet Nam responding to the requirements of the member countries to address a persistent and widespread issue of straw burning across the region. The Workshop will circulate the findings of a research paper of CSAM to study the status of straw management in Asia-Pacific and recommend options for integrated straw management in the region.

 

 

The 5th Regional Forum on Sustainable Agricultural Mechanization in Asia and the Pacific - Promoting Sustainable Agricultural Mechanization Strategy, 12-14 December 2017, Kathmandu, Nepal

The Regional Forum on Sustainable Agricultural Mechanization is organized annually by CSAM to promote regional cooperation and high-level policy dialogue. The 5th Regional Forum on Sustainable Agricultural Mechanization in Asia and the Pacific will be co-organized by the Centre for Sustainable Agricultural Mechanization (CSAM) of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), and the Ministry of Agricultural Development of Nepal on 12-14 December 2017 in Kathmandu, Nepal. The theme of the 5th Regional Forum is ¡°Promoting Sustainable Agricultural Mechanization Strategy¡± to facilitate discussion on national policy formulation, strategy development, and identification of innovative solutions for sustainable agricultural mechanization

 

 

Thirteenth Session of the Governing Council of the Centre for Sustainable Agricultural Mechanization, 13 December 2017, Kathmandu, Nepal

The Governing Council of CSAM consists of a representative designated by the Government of China (host country) and eight representatives nominated by other members and associate members of ESCAP elected by the Commission every three years. The Council meets once annually. The 13th session of the Governing Council will be held on 13 December 2017 in Kathmandu, Nepal. The 13th GC will review the Centre¡¯s work report of 2017 and its administrative and financial status in 2017, provide direction for the Centre¡¯s programme of work for 2018, and consider the CSAM Mid-term Development Strategy for 2017-2019 for endorsement.
